With over 10 years of experience in the field of developing others, Jana Perold has developed a unique combination of training skills that has allowed her to work in a variety of fields and sectors throughout South Africa.
Many of Jana’s skills and knowledge are rooted in a strong foundation of research. Her diverse work experience has led her to build up a solid portfolio of clients – both in the private and government sector – where she worked as a consultant to develop and train various niche groups of people throughout both large and small organisations.
Originally from the South Coast, Jana’s passion for communication, training and developed derived from her mother – an influential role model who focused her life on teaching and guidance. Based on experience and observation, her main focus has shifted towards the art of communication in society today, be it body language, talking to fellow employees, or doing self-reflection in order to better oneself.
How often do we not find ourselves saying that if only the communication channels were open, things would have worked out so much better. As is often the case, bad habits are hard to break. By learning how to communicate effectively, you will be able to open the channels of communication and become more efficient – both in your personal and professional life.
After completing her Masters Degree in Adult Education and Training, Jana moved on to working for an NGO, where she was exposed to many different aspects of communities and development. It enabled her to identify and explore developmental issues that are so often the focus of what is currently happening in South Africa.
From there, she moved into the field of local government, working for the then Department of Local Government, Gauteng. She successfully developed and initiated the ‘Kwanele Councillor Mentorship Programme’, which saw the relationship between successful business entrepreneurs in the province form mentoring relationships with over 200 female councillors in the province.
Her time was also spent working closely with the MEC for Local Government, Qedani Mahlangu, who taught her invaluable skills in handling issues pertaining to local government.
